Terms of Service
Last updated: June 20, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Tablo (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree to these terms, you are prohibited from using the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
2. Description of Service & Billing
Tablo is an AI-powered collaborative whiteboard learning platform. We offer a pay-per-hour (pay-as-you-go) tutoring model, where credits are purchased and deducted based on the elapsed active call time during live voice tutoring sessions. The billing boundaries are calculated dynamically in seconds by our servers. Additionally, limits are placed on document page indexing based on your tutoring plan or hourly purchase tier.
3. Strict No-Refund Policy
All purchases made on Tablo are final. Due to the high cost of real-time AI and compute resources, we enforce a strict no-refund policy for all hourly packages, tutoring balances, and page-indexing top-up credits. By purchasing credits, you acknowledge and agree that no refunds or exchanges will be provided under any circumstances.
4. User Content & Ownership
You retain full ownership and intellectual property rights in any documents, study materials, files, and text you upload to the Service ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant Tablo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, limited license to process, extract, transmit, and store your content solely for the purpose of providing the tutoring features (including document text extraction, vector embedding storage, and AI reasoning context) to you.
5. AI Disclaimer & Platform Compliance
Tablo utilizes advanced artificial intelligence models, including Google Gemini (via the Google GenAI Realtime API), to generate learning responses, Socratic prompts, and whiteboard drawings. While we strive for tutoring excellence, AI-generated content can occasionally contain errors, hallucinated facts, or inaccuracies. Tablo does not guarantee the accuracy, correctness, or reliability of any AI outputs. You agree to verify critical learning facts and information independently. Use of the Service is subject to compliance with the Google GenAI Terms of Service.
6. Account Termination, Deletion & Data Retention
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or our operations. You may permanently delete your account at any time. Account deletion will result in the immediate and permanent erasure of all your study spaces, chat histories, uploaded files, and vector embeddings in compliance with our Privacy Policy.
To optimize platform efficiency, minimize hosting costs, and ensure user privacy, Tablo enforces a strict **180-Day Retention Policy**. All student conversational history, Socratic chat logs, and telemetry markers older than 180 days are automatically and permanently pruned from our active database servers. Critical study documents, syllabus uploads, and learner profile metrics will remain unaffected as long as your account remains active.
Additionally, Tablo's administrators and authorized support technicians may access secure server logs and chat history database records solely for billing validation, infrastructure troubleshooting, cognitive safety evaluations, or to prevent platform abuse. Your private data is never sold or distributed to third parties.
7. Fair Usage Policy & API Rate Limits
To ensure high availability, cognitive safety, and performance for all students, Tablo enforces automated fair usage quotas and system rate limits. Any automated scripting, scraping, or high-frequency requests designed to bypass our interface or exhaust backend resources are strictly prohibited. The current standard platform limits include:
- Socratic Chat Quota: Maximum of 15 text messages per minute per active user.
- Document Ingestion: Maximum of 5 file uploads and 45 RAG index updates per minute.
- Voice/Live Chat Limits: A standard limit of 120 minutes (7,200 seconds) of active voice calls per calendar day per student to prevent streaming resource abuse.
Violation of these limits or attempts to circumvent them may result in temporary IP throttling, rate-limit blocks (HTTP 429), or immediate account termination.
